| Rooney celebrates his opener. |
Manchester United were beaten 2-1 by rivals
Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last night in the
English Premier League. It was only United's 2nd defeat of the season but this latest defeat had open up the title race again.
Arsenal are just 4 points behind and with a game in hand.
Wayne Rooney broke the deadlock with a beautifully taken right foot shot just outside the penalty box in the 29th minute. Chelsea bounced back in the 2nd half with goals from
David Luiz in the 54th minute and
Frank Lampard's controversial penalty which was also the winning goal. United were down to 10 men in the 90th minute when
Nemanja Vidic was shown a 2nd yellow card.

| Picture paints a thousand words.. Mr. Atkinson.. Now you see? Our "Little Pea" was sent flying with that late shoulder barge! |
United were dominating the 1st half and yet again they screwed it in the 2nd period when they sat back and allowed Chelsea to push forward. David Luiz's goal was a beauty, no doubt about it, but he was a lucky man last night for not being sent off for his challenges on Rooney and
Javier Hernandez. But the controversial moment was when referee
Martin Atkinson awarded Chelsea the winning penalty when
Yuri Zhirkov was "brought down" by
Chris Smalling in the box. Hey ref! It's time to change your contact lenses! He did not stick out his leg! So that
"BRILLIANT" decision from Mr. Atkinson gave all the United fans a bad bad day and he himself with a
big-fat-thank-you check $$$ from
Roman Abramovich? Who knows... Right? What I know is, we lost... to
INJUSTICE ......
