| The Birmingham City players were ecstatic when they lift the Carling Cup trophy at Wembley last night. It's only their 2nd Carling Cup success, the first one in 1963. |
Here's a quick post to congratulate
Birmingham City for winning the
Carling Cup by beating
Arsenal 2-1 in the final at Wembley last night.
Nikola Zigic had put the Blues in the lead after 28 minutes before captain-for-the-day
Robin van Persie equalized for Arsenal 10 minutes later. A mixed up between Arsenal's 3rd choice keeper
Wojciech Szczesny and defender
Laurent Koscielny in the 89th minute left
Obafemi Martins with an easy job to finish by tapping in to an empty goal. As he described later after the game - "My easiest goal ever". It was only Birmingham City's 2nd Carling Cup medal since they clinched it for the 1st time in 1963. Well done Blues! As for Arsenal, sorry.. quadruple dream
CRUSHED this season.. try again next year! :-P
